Keeping third party candidates out of the debates is unconstitutional. It's not characteristic of a true democracy. This is government hypocrisy at its finest. Your bi-partisan institution should be stripped of its power. The power to choose belongs to the people of this great country. Quit your jobs and go home.

This organization is just part of the political machine made up of both major parties and the media to maintain the status quo. Their tax exempt status should be revoked! Why 15% to have your voice matter at a national debate? Why not use the threshold of on the ballot in all 50 states? If all voters could cast a ballot for a candidate (without write in) then you should be REQUIERD to educate the electorate if you were truly non-partisan. Why do the parties in charge at the state level get to decide how to heard voters into the districts to maintain their majority? This makes the popular vote a joke and silences the voice of the people.

Both Johnson and Stein should be included in the debates. Johnson will be on the ballot in all 50 states and DC. Stein, as of Sept 7, is at 42 states and counting. Also, the polling is flawed. Under-representing or not including millenials and military voters. Polls not even allowing a choice of other than the Democratic or Republican nominee. Also, in past presidential elections, it seemed I was polled at least once or twice a week. Sure felt that way. This year I have received zero calls of any sort, other than for the Senatorial race. Way to go, trying to perpetuate the duopoly of D/R. The people will eventually rise up and stop the muzzling of their voices.

Hello, My name is Austin and I am a registered Republican. I have heard a lot of people talking about how Gary Johnson needs to hit 15% in 5 different polls in order to let the American people hear what he has to say. Now, I think it is silly to allow any Tom Dick or Harry who wants to be president to get on stage, but I feel that 15% is a strangely high number to hit to even be considered. I don’t disagree that you should hit a certain percentage in the polls to get on stage, but why 15%? The polls that should matter in this are what percentage of people think these particular candidates should be on stage. Polling people on who they’re going to vote for wipes away the point of the debates. Shouldn’t the point of the debates be to help us decide who we’re going to vote for? But instead, you make us decide between “canned” options, and that leaves out the smaller faction of voices. The reason the founding fathers chose to declare us a Republic rather than a Democracy was because a Republic is better for giving small factions a voice. Of the 318 million people living in this country (As of 2014) you’re saying that at a minimum 47.8 million people need to say they’re actually going to vote for someone prior to even hearing them debate the other candidates. Something about that just doesn’t sit right with me. I enjoy the debates, but I urge you to consider what the founding fathers wanted for this country, and that was to give a voice to the minority. The Republican primary debates had 11 people on stage.... Where's the harm in allowing a couple more people on stage for the biggest decision this country will make this year? Anything else just seems crooked.
